Hi! Little about me and where I come from and how I got here.
I was born in Grand Forks, ND in 1981. Simple enough. My parents moved to Fargo, ND in ’84, then to Glyndon, MN in ’91. Graduated from Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton Senior High in 2000. Went to Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for a few years, failed out. Went to Minnesota State University–Moorhead for a few years, failed out after our kid was born. Got married. Moved to Fort Wayne, IN. Went to Indiana-Purdue University in Fort Wayne, where I finally graduated in General Studies with a Creative Writing minor and an associates’ in Interior Design. Did a little bit of everything.
While at IPFW, I met a lot of encouraging professors and discovered that poetry was one of the few things that I both enjoyed and was good at. Ended up going to Columbia College Chicago and got an MFA in Poetry. I’ve written a few things here and there that got published. I’ve done some readings that went pretty well.
Before and during all this I was a choir member, a guitarist in an art metal band, a literal ditch-digger, a retail cashier, a soft drink merchandiser, a live audio engineer, a studio audio engineer, a high school forensics speech coach, a parent, a friend, and sometimes even a writer.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope you enjoy what you find as you poke around and through my work.
